Today, the U.S. population is currently 51% women which has remained consistent since the mid-2000s. The opportunity for serving women lies in the projected wealth transfer over the next 30 years. Women are projected to inherit between $42T and $110T – and these women will need financial professionals.
Towards the end of 2018, women made up 42 percent of breadwinners1 and by the end of 2019 it is estimated that 67 percent of wealthy Americans will be women. Currently, 35 percent of millionaires are women.
Women investors are and have been underserved. In a 2018 Fidelity survey, 66 percent of women were either delegators or validators which means they work or want to work with a financial advisor. In the same survey, 92 percent wanted more of an educational approach to the planning process.
